Subway is to create 400 jobs with the opening of 40 shops across Ireland, the sandwich maker announced at the opening of their its branch in Douglas in Cork.

The chain, famous for its 12-inch subs, is planning on investing €5m in Ireland and creating 40 new outlets in 2014.

Development Agent for the Subway in Ireland Neil Black said that Ireland has maintained strong growth in spite of the recession.
