AIB to outsource work of 30 staff

As AIB’s shares collapsed by 30% of their value the company informed staff that they are to outsource the work of its Learning and Development programme which employs more than 30 staff.

The move is seen as the first step in a plan that could see up to 1,000 jobs outsourced in the State-owned bank. The vast majority of the outsourcing is set to affect 750 staff in AIB’s IT department.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed it had begun a 30-day consultation in relation to outsourcing the bank’s Learning and Development (L&D) programme to multinational consultancy firm Accenture.
