Exports drive services growth

The services sector recorded its fifth successive month of growth in December, driven by the best monthly performance for new exports in over six years.

The latest edition of the monthly purchasing managers’ index for the sector, compiled by NCB Stockbrokers, paints a broadly positive picture.

There were good gains in key areas such as general business activity, new business orders, new export business, employment levels, and confidence among company owners.
