Iseq continues positive momentum

The Iseq Index continued its positive momentum by nudging upwards by a further 7.5 points to 3,347.77 with world markets experiencing mixed fortunes overall.

In the US, payroll figures released showed that the economy added 146,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate fell to 7.7%, the lowest since Dec 2008.

A positive day overall in the Irish financials saw Bank of Ireland and AIB adding 0.2c and 0.1c to 12.2c and 5.4c respectively. Permanent TSB was unchanged at 2.2c. Meanwhile, insurer FBD Holdings declined by 3c to €10.57.
