Services sector stays at 5-year high

The services sector has had another good month with the business activity index remaining at the same five-year high level recorded last month, according to the NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI).

Overall, the latest survey covering the month of November was bullish on a number of fronts. “The headline Business Activity (56.1) index is unchanged from the five-year high recorded in the previous month,” said NCB chief economist Philip O’Sullivan.

Companies in the services sector are upbeat about their prospects, with the “expected levels in 12 months’ time reading at its highest level in eight months”.
