ISME& has called on the Government to increase the level of spending cuts relative to tax increases in next month’s budget.

The current proposal is for the Government to secure the €3.5bn in fiscal consolidation through a combination of 65% in spending cuts and 35% in tax increases.

ISME wants 75% in spending cuts and 25% in tax increases, it said in its pre-budget submission.
