Market maintains its advance

Irish shares closed in positive territory once again as European markets await confirmation that Spain will formally seek a bailout.

The Iseq Index closed up 11.5 points to 3,311.15.

In the financial sector AIB and Bank of Ireland were unchanged at 5.4c and 9.8c as AIB announced it was increasing its variable mortgage rates by 0.5% effective on November 13. Permanent TSB was also flat at 2.5c while insurer FBD Holdings shed 10c to €9.80.
