Need to embrace some ‘Yes we can’ attitude

I have always believed that if one wants a lift in outlook, then a visit to the United States is a good way of achieving it.

The general attitude is one of positivity, a can-do approach and a lot less begrudgery and “playing the blame game” that is so common in Ireland. The media tends to be more positive and there is less tendency to pick something negative out of every story, a pretty strong characteristic of the media in Ireland.

I am currently spending a week working in the United States and as always, the attitude on display is one of positivity and of just getting on with it. There is still an air of vibrancy on display, which may have something to do with the size of the population, but it is still very much part of the American psyche.
