Ireland hopes to have many billions of euro to spend on job creation measures as a result of the EU summit reaching agreement on a growth plan.

Hollande urges €120bn plan

French president François Hollande insisted the same amount of attention must be paid to growth as to austerity and put forward plans that included making €120bn, or about 1% of the EU’s GDP, for measures.

Much of his ideas, already put forward over the past few months by the European Commission, ended up as a pact before EU leaders in Brussels last night.
