Price of manufactured goods increased by 2% over 12 months

The price of manufactured goods has increased by 2% in the 12 months to May 2012.

The 2% increase is the lowest 12-month increase recorded in the CSO in its monthly wholesale index price since the start of the year. In Jan the index recorded an increase of 2.7% year on year and in April the increase was 2.8%.

The increase in the annual wholesale price index was driven by a nearly 7% in the cost of high end manufactured goods. the cost of computer, electronic and optical products jumped by 6.9% since May last year.
