Markets static ahead of Fed meeting

Markets were flat as investors await news from the latest Federal Reserve meeting and hope for further economic stimulus measures. A decision is due on interest rates and any possible further capital injections for the ailing US economy.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland was unchanged at 9.4c. AIB fell 0.3c to 6.6c. Permanent TSB shed 0.3c to 2.5c, while FBD Holdings gained 0.2c to €8.12. In the construction sector, CRH advanced 13c to €14.38. Grafton slipped 0.5c to €2.70, while Kingspan dropped 8c to €6.52.
