Markets decline amid Greek fears

The Iseq index fell 69.34 points yesterday, to close at 3,088.31, in line with other European bourses.

The political deadlock in Greece has investors running scared, with uncertainty over what effect a Greek exit from the euro would have on the eurozone.

The CDU in Germany is now saying, following its defeat in Sunday’s election, that it was only a regional election and it is still ahead in federal polls. All eyes will be on the meeting this week of German chancellor Angela Merkel and new French president Francois Hollande.
