Shares on the market made a minor gain of 21.67 points yesterday to finish the week at 3,157.65.

Other Europeanmarkets were mixed as news surfaced from the US that JPMorgan confirmed it had accumulated approximately €2bn of trading losses in the credit default swap market. The companies traded significantly during yesterday’s session.

Bank stocks were among the laggards again. AIB and Bank of Ireland shed 0.3c and 0.1c to close at 7.1c and 9.7c. Irish Life and Permanent was also worse off, dropping 0.2c to 3.02c. Irish insurer FBD Holdings gained 20c to €8.50.
