Market falls amid Spanish fears

European shares fell, with concerns about Spain and its ability to meet budget targets hitting peripherals. Reduced prospects for fresh US stimulus and deepening concerns over the eurozone’s debt and growth outlook weighed on risk appetite.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland slipped 0.2c to 10.9c. AIB dipped 0.7c to 7.7c. Irish Life & Permanent were unchanged at 3.5c, while insurance group FBD Holdings added 1c to €9.08.
