The Iseq index lost ground yesterday, to close down 16.81 points at 3,250.04.

Other European markets were lower as eurozone debt worries moved to Spain and other peripheral countries. Poor economic data from China also helped to drag markets down.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland fell 0.5c to 12.9c. AIB slipped 0.5c to 11c. Irish Life & Permanent gained 0.3c to 4.9c, while insurance group FBD advanced 7c to €8.62.
