Market maintains steady advance

Shares on the Irish market made slight gains yesterday, adding 29.55 points to finish the week at 3,200.25 and thus recording a net gain for the week of about 20 points.

The financial stocks were mixed again with Bank of Ireland and AIB edging slightly into positive territory. The former added 0.2c to 13c while the latter was up 0.1c to 13.5c. Irish Life and Permanent shed 0.2c to 0.043c.

Insurance group FBD was 40c ahead to €8.65.
