THE failure of the HSE to pay small businesses on time for goods and services is contributing to job losses and forcing firms to the wall.

Mark Fielding, chief executive, Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association (ISME) singled out the HSE as one of the country’s worst payers.

Mr Fielding wants the Government to “put their money where their mouth is” when it comes to commercial payments, especially to small and medium firms who rely on this cashflow to stay in business.
