THE ISEQ index rose 12.21 points to 2,623.72 yesterday in line with other European and world markets.

Market rises in line with peers

The euro rose and European shares reversed earlier losses to gain for a third straight day, buoyed by Italy’s success in selling €7.5 billion in bonds, despite its cost of borrowing continuing to rise.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland added 0.4c to 8.7c. AIB dropped 0.8c to 6c. Irish Life & Permanent moved up 0.1c to 3.4c, while insurance group FBD Holdings was 2.1c stronger at €6.45.
