Times seeks to save €10m

THE Irish Times has said it plans to cut its budget by €10m over the next two years with up to 20 voluntary redundancies likely.

Staff at the newspaper were informed of the measures at a number of different briefings yesterday.

It is understood that managing director, Liam Kavanagh, and recently appointed editor, Kevin O’Sullivan, told staff of the planned cuts while assuring them that the measures were being taken to future-proof the paper.
