Market down as shares sold off

THE ISEQ index slipped 12.48 points to 3,003.06 yesterday as profit-takers stepped in after a six-day rally in shares.

Most European markets were slightly down with strategists advising caution as weak eurozone economic data cast fresh doubts on the strength of the recovery.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland declined 1.3c to 11c. AIB slipped 0.2c to 14c. Irish Life & Permanent gained 0.2c to 3.2c, while FBD Holdings retreated 10.1c to 7.
