IFA president John Bryan has renewed his call on the Government to prioritise fair trade legislation, which must rebalance the food supply chain and deliver a return to producers that covers their costs and gives them a living.

The IFA leader said the Government should not ignore the strong support at the recent IFA protest outside Dáil Éireann. This was a clear message that must be heeded, he said.

He made the call after the announcement by the British government that a Groceries Code Adjudicator Bill will be introduced there shortly.
