Glanbia programme to boost eco credentials of milk production

GLANBIA has expanded its accredited farm audit process into a new sustainability programme which will boost the eco credentials of production methods used by the co-op’s 4,300 Irish milk suppliers.

An extension of the Dairy Farm Assurance Scheme, which Glanbia’s suppliers have been following since 2005, the new programme will tie into the on-farm auditing infrastructure used in Bord Bia’s assurance schemes.

Glanbia managing director John Moloney said: “ We see this programme as a process of continuous improvement, based on what is already a strong commitment to sustain-ability.”
