Bailout efforts praised by commission

THE European Commission has strongly endorsed the Government’s efforts at implementing the terms of the €67.5 billion bailout plan agreed with the EU and IMF in November.

It follows the EU/IMF review mission that was in Dublin in April to assess how the Government was responding to the challenges set down under the bailout.

The report warned, however, that Ireland has to be “resolute” about correcting the budget deficit and in delivering the goals set out under the plans.
