Landfill levy rise to lead to 112 jobs

GREYOUND Recycling and Recovery is to create 112 jobs on foot of the Government’s decision to raise the landfill levy to €75 per tonne by July 2013.

The company, which currently employs 250 staff, will recruit 50 new staff to work in its centres in Clondalkin and Ballymount from September 1, 2011. An additional 37 new jobs will be created in July 2012 together with 25 new jobs in July 2013 as the increases to the landfill levy take effect.
