Further growth expected as industrial production up 17%

INDUSTRIAL production grew by 17% in 2010, finishing with an impressive weather impacted growth rate of 18% in December, pointing to continued growth this year.

Data released by the Central Statistics Office shows that production for manufacturing industries for December 2010 was 18.3% higher than in December 2009.

Bloxham chief economist Alan McQuaid said the growth augurs well for 2010, even though it was the ‘multinational’ sector that was once again the main output driver.
