Mantis Cranes, based in Killygordon, Co Donegal, design and manufacture a range of customised self-erector cranes for use across a wide range of construction projects.

As part of this week’s Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Brazil, Minister for Trade and Commerce, Billy Kelleher, joined the company on a site visit to the Brazilian company Construtora e Incorporadora Rossi.

Mr Kelleher said Brazil is a key target market for Irish firms with major modernisation, infrastructure and development projects under way in the country.

He said Mantis Cranes has shown it can crack new markets and create jobs for Irish workers by matching high-quality products to specific customer demands.

Seamus McMenamin, CEO of the Donegal firm which employs people in engineering, sales, purchasing and manufacturing, said it was very exciting to have opportunities in the Brazilian market.

“Our focus is on bringing the best that Mantis can offer with tailored solutions for each individual customer,” he said.

“With the support of Enterprise Ireland in Brazil, we are confident we can successfully win business and establish the Mantis brand in Brazil.”

Kevin Sherry, Enterprise Ireland’s head of international sales and partnering, said there are 34 Irish companies taking part in the trade mission and this showed just how diverse the business opportunities are in Brazil.

They include construction and engineering, education, telecoms, financial services, oil and gas.
