McDonald’s boosts sales by 6.5%

Oak Brook, Illinois: McDonald’s, the world’s largest restaurant chain, said comparable-store sales climbed 6.5% last month from a year earlier, as it lured more US customers with items such as frappes and a Monopoly promotion.

Analysts projected global sales would advance 5.4%, the median of four estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Sales at restaurants open at least 13 months rose in all regions, the retailer said.

The company attracted customers outside regular meal times by adding coffee beverages and fruit smoothies.
