Market jumps as equities hit high

The ISEQ jumped 50.17 points to end yesterday's session at 2,756.41. European equities climbed to six-month highs on the day, with appetite for risky assets jumping after the US Federal Reserve unveiled fresh stimulus plans to lower borrowing costs for consumers and businesses.

In the financial sector, AIB fell a further 2c to 30c. Bank of Ireland slipped 0.7c to 48.8c. Irish Life & Permanent decreased 3.8c to 1.309, while FBD Holdings gave up 18.4c to 6.00.

In the construction sector, CRH jumped 59.5c to 13.645. Kingspan shed 2.8c to 5.835, while Grafton Group progressed 13.1c to 3.189.
