London house prices rise again

London: London house prices rose to a record in March, led by gains in some of the city’s most expensive districts, research group Acadametrics Ltd said.

Values jumped 0.9% from February to an average £378,955 (€441,660) and were up 17.3% from a year earlier, Acadametrics said in a report. Kensington and Chelsea led gains. Nationally, prices rose 0.5% in April, it said.

Reports in the past month have painted a mixed picture of British housing.

While the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ price gauge rose for the first time in five months in April, Halifax reported that values slipped 0.1% that month.
