Call for maximum and minimum rates to be applied to CAP payments

THE application of maximum and minimum rates to Common Agricultural Policy payments is being sought by Ireland South member of the European Parliament Sean Kelly.

“We need to ensure that fairness applies in the area of the Single Farm Payment,” Mr Kelly said, speaking in the context of the upcoming negotiations over the CAP budget.

Mr Kelly said the social and economic benefits of the small family farm cannot be highlighted enough.
