Call to abolish ‘free flight’ perk

Cork: Aer Lingus should immediately scrap the “free flights” perk being enjoyed by existing and former board members, according to Cork South Central TD Michael McGrath.

Mr McGrath said the free flight perk sends out the wrong signal to the general public and Aer Lingus staff.

Seán FitzPatrick, the disgraced former chairman of Anglo Irish Bank, is understood to be one of the beneficiaries of the perk as a former member of the Aer Lingus board.
