Markets strong on Greek deal
THE ISEQ index closed the week on a positive note yesterday with a slight gain of 10.04 points to 3,212.18. Eurozone leaders concluded their two-day meeting with the fiscal problems of Greece high on the agenda. They have reached an agreement that will involve eurozone member states and the IMF, whereby Greece will receive co-ordinated bilateral loans from both sources.
In the financial sector, the main financials relinquished some of their recent gains. AIB declined 9c to €1.70. Bank of Ireland fell back 8c to 1.39. Irish Life & Permanent dipped 5c to €3.05, while insurance company FBD Holdings decreased 7c to €6.84.
