PM Group wins €10m contracts
The group’s international consultancy division, PM International (PMI) won the contracts which include waste governance in Moldova and Belarus; environmental and economic sector projects in Bosnia; competition and state aid in Croatia; SME development in Kosovo; strengthening of Macedonia’s Civil Service Agency on behalf of the European Commission and environmental and municipal projects in Serbia.
The PM Group’s Dermot O’Dwyer said: “We were delighted to win these new projects. It is a particularly rewarding area to work in as we are involved with helping pre-accession countries to implement sustainable solutions as foundations to their future growth.”
The PM Group, which has offices in Dublin, Cork, Britain, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria, employs 1,700 people in Ireland and worldwide; 465 of these work outside Ireland.
The group competed against some of Europe’s leading consultancy companies to win these high profile contracts.
These latest EU-funded contracts follow the group’s recent success in winning work in Brussels with the European Commission to assist in effectively coordinating activities with other donors.
These include World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank – in the western Balkans and Turkey.
“PM Group’s recent successes are a reflection of the company’s strategic ambitions to broaden its international consultancy activities.
“This is reflected by our long-term presence in Romania and Bulgaria and our recent work with the Asian Development Bank in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan,” Mr O’Dwyer said.
He said the PM Group’s international consulting services places particular emphasis on the strengthening of ministries and state institutions, cross-border development, human resource development and regional development, using the experience gained from an Irish perspective.
He said the group uses this experience to guide the beneficiary countries through the often difficult transition process to full membership of the European Union.
