Market has slight gain after NAMA

THE ISEQ index closed marginally up at 2,873.20 points yesterday – a gain of 0.40. The European Commission said Ireland’s National Asset Management Agency, which will receive devalued property loans from financial institutions, was in line with EU state aid rules.

In the financial sector, AIB was up 0.5c at 99c, Bank of Ireland shed 1.5c to €1, Irish Life & Permanent gave up 7c to €2.75, while insurance company FBD Holdings closed 6c less at €5.73.

In the construction sector, CRH posted a gain of 3c to €16.73, Kingspan weakened 49c to €5, while Grafton Group advanced 7c to €2.40.
