Retail Ireland seeks cut in rates

RETAIL IRELAND, the IBEC-affiliated group that represents the Irish retail sector, has called on all local authorities to cut commercial rates when voting on the matter later this month.

The body has written to the chairperson of every local authority as well as all city and county managers to ask for a reduction of 20%.

The group has written to the Taoiseach and the leaders of the main opposition parties to request that their councillors’ support.
