The contract – awarded to Kentz’s subsidiary by Qatar Petroleum offshoot, Qatargas – covers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for a receiving and loading facility project for the Laffan Refinery company in Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City.

The work will include the full site development of the main fuel truck distribution point for the Laffan Refinery Tank Farm, the installation of the pipelines between the Tank Farm, loading facility and the Ras Laffan jetty.

Kentz is responsible for process design, storage facilities, custody metering and loading facilities on a turnkey basis due for completion in two years’ time.

Kentz chief executive Hugh O’Donnell said: “The award of this EPC package reflects the confidence that this major client has in Kentz’s ability to deliver critical and complex projects. We have mobilised our project team and look forward to carrying out another successful project for Qatar Petroleum and their partners in Qatar.”
