Market gains after NAMA vote

THE ISEQ began the week yesterday with a gain of 21.40 points to 3,367.54 after the Green Party endorsed the Programme for Government and rejected a motion opposing the setting up of NAMA by 69% to 31%.

It is expected that NAMA will become law by the end of the month.

In the financial sector, the two main banks made slight gains. AIB closed up 2c at €3.06. Bank of Ireland added 1c to €3.15, Irish Life & Permanent declined 12c to €5.58, while insurance group FBD Holdings dipped 5c to €7.65.
