Madrid: Spain’s govern-ment plans to change labour market rules to help the young and long-term unemployed and to reduce the highest temporary employment rate in Europe, Labour Minister Celestino Corbacho said.

He said future reforms should make Spain more competitive, with more stable jobs and a better-trained workforce.

Spain’s Socialist government has resisted calls to make changes to labour market rules even as the economy suffers from the highest unemployment rate in Europe and a youth jobless rate of 38%.
