Market down on slim volumes

THE ISEQ index slipped back 17.51 points to 2,731.21 as trading volumes were very thin throughout the day. Profit takers were to the fore again as the market weakened slightly after a week of share price rises for many stocks.

THE ISEQ index slipped back 17.51 points to 2,731.21 as trading volumes were very thin throughout the day. Profit takers were to the fore again as the market weakened slightly after a week of share price rises for many stocks.

In the financial sector, AIB was unchanged at €1.63, Bank of Ireland added 2c to €1.60, Irish Life & Permanent jumped 15c to €3.05, while insurance company FBD Holdings remained at €6.20.
