Market gains on consumer confidence

THE ISEQ index started the week with a gain of 32.56 points to 2,723.86, after reports showed that consumer confidence in Ireland and the rest of Europe had risen.

The latest KBC Ireland/ESRI Consumer sentiment index showed that consumer sentiment rose to a 14-month high in June.

In the financial sector, AIB added 2c to €1.70, Bank of Ireland progressed 4c to €1.71, Irish Life & Permanent jumped 27c to €3.37, while insurance group FBD Holdings improved 15c to €7.25.
