The EU is set to fund retraining for Dell workers to the tune of at least €5,000 a person under the globalisation scheme.

Tánaiste and Enterprise Minister Mary Coughlan said the application has been completed and will be submitted shortly.

Under new rules the state can claim up to 65% of the funds spent on retraining and helping the redundant workers find new employment.
