AIB chief executive’s payslashed to €1.15m last year

AIB chief executive, Eugene Sheehy, had his pay slashed 45% to €1.15 million last year, while the bank didn’t pay any bonuses to directors.

This is according to a filing by AIB to the US Securities and Exchange Commission in which it also noted that it made more market share gains last year than in previous years.

Mr Sheehy, 54, faces a further cut in his compensation this year given the Government’s plans to cap salaries for chief executives at banks receiving state aid at €500,000.
