UP to 300 jobs in financial services could be created over the next three years for people from disadvantaged companies under an initiative launched yesterday.

The National College of Ireland, based in the IFSC, has teamed up with State Street Corporation and other supporters to provide training to those trying to improve on-the-job skills in communications, technology and other areas.

The Progressions project will also involve youth organisations, and has backing from financier Dermot Desmond, the Institute of Bankers, Irish Funds Industry Association and Irish Banking Federation.
