CSO: Value of exports fell 4% in June

THE value of exports from Ireland fell by 4% in June, compared with the previous month, while the country’s trade surplus slipped by €400 million.

Irish exports were valued at €7.13 billion in June, according to newly published external trade figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), which was down by 4% from €7.44bn in May. Meanwhile, Ireland’s trade surplus slipped from €2.52bn in May to €2.16bn in June.

That month’s figures saw the value of Irish exports reach their lowest since December of last year, and our trade surplus fall to its lowest since March this year.
