EMC revenues surge as announcement due on Irish plant

EMC, which is confirming a major investment at its Cork operations today, posted better-than-expected quarterly results yesterday buoyed by a 27% surge in international revenue.

Senior executives along with the minister for foreign affairs, Micheál Martin are in Cork today to confirm details of the investment which is likely to result in job creation.

Shares at EMC, the world’s biggest maker of corporate storage equipment soared 13% in late trade yesterday, rebounding from a fall late on Tuesday that was sparked by a poor outlook from EMC’s majority-owned software unit VMware.
