Clann Credo social fund conference

SOCIAL investment fund, Clann Credo holds its 2008 Common Cents conference at Cork’s Silver Springs Moran Hotel today.

The fund’s chief executive, Paul O’Sullivan, is looking for community organisations, non-profit bodies and social enterprises, which may have difficulty in accessing finance to expand or develop their services in the current tighter financial environment, to attend.

Mr O’Sullivan said last year’s launch of the Social Finance Foundation was a formal recognition of the value of the social finance concept, which Clann Credo has been promoting for the last 12 years.

“Projects can be as simple as a job creation venture in an area of low employment or as ambitious as social housing for a community. The aim is to encourage communities towards self-sustainability and produce a social dividend,” he said.
