Market stages strong recovery

THE Irish exchange soared 157 points yesterday despite a profit warning from Ireland’s biggest recruitment company CPL Resources. The ISEQ was at 6,114 at the closing bell.

AIB gained 23c to finish at €13. Bank of Ireland added 10c to €8.90. Anglo and Irish Life and Permanent were 23c and 5c stronger at €8.12 and €11.30.

Construction giant CRH jumped 74c to €24.10. Grafton Group gained 15c to €5.52 while Kingspan was 39c better off at €8.20 on press reports of the acquisition of the Thermabate division from Cemex.
