Business travellers would use US route

HALF of business travellers in Cork said they would avail of a direct, non-stop, year round service to key cities on the East Coast of the USA if it was available from Cork Airport.

A survey issued by Cork Chamber in association with Cork Airport also found that half of business travellers making the journey from Cork to the US used the London Heathrow hub when travelling last year.

Also one in three used the hub for onward connections to Europe from Cork airport.
