THE Irish market went the way of all its European counterparts by losing ground yesterday.

The ISEQ index began the week shipping 55.42 to close at 6,104.52.

AIB and Bank of Ireland gained ground up 6c and 8c to 13.19 and 9.01. Irish Life and Permanent rose 5.8c to 10.72, Anglo-Irish however, slumped, 38.9c to 8.68.
