THE Irish Farmers Association yesterday accused four supermarkets groups of using food as a loss leader.

IFA president Pádraig Walshe said they had this week identified Tesco, Superquinn, Aldi and SuperValu “as culprits whose actions are undermining the livelihoods of producers”.

Retail Ireland, the IBEC group that represents the sector, rejected as groundless IFA allegations of predatory pricing.
